To say i watched a lot of tennis on the TV as a kid is an understatement.
That time i was staying up with my dad and bro watching Wimbledon Grand Final where Pat Cash beat Ivan Lendl in the wee hours of a primary school night (a sunday night here? shrug) was cake for many years.
The c'mon aussie c'mon cricket jingle mantra from the late 70s to early 80s was king.
Heck even Australia ingeniously winning the America's Cup was cool too.
But nothing, i mean nothing compares to these two generational football feats (2006 Socceroos and the 2023 Matildas -the girls still in it, hopefully inch closer to a trophy lift), and its what has made me to be proud Australian.
